"We didn't want to build another search tool. We wanted to build the patent layer that modern innovation teams have been quietly missing."

We're still small, still in Munich, and still believe the best software feels like a calm, well-organized colleague. That's the bar we set for every release.

By the end of 2023, PATOffice took the stage as a standalone product, with Europatent as our legal entity in the background. Led by founder and CEO Lukas Kappelsberger, our team of 10 in Munich and remote helps hundreds of companies — from solo patent attorneys to global R&D departments — turn patent data into competitive advantage.

Long before Europatent was founded in 2015, we noticed that manufacturers didn't want lengthy innovation processes — they wanted to fast-track strategic decisions backed by real evidence. That observation, quietly compounded by ten years of patent work, became PATOffice.
